    Assistive Technologies

    Get PDF
A special place into assistive technologies is taken up by the speech recognition and speech synthesizer, which can be used by many different users, persons with visual, language or mobility disabilities. For many years soft developers have been concerned by speech recognition and text-to-speech because we assist to great changes in informatics area and accessibility is the main condition in the creation of assistive software applications.speech recognition, text-to-speech, assistive technologies, accessibility

A Linear Algorithm for Black Scholes Economic Model

    Get PDF
The pricing of options is a very important problem encountered in financial domain. The famous Black-Scholes model provides explicit closed form solution for the values of certain (European style) call and put options. But for many other options, either there are no closed form solution, or if such closed form solutions exist, the formulas exhibiting them are complicated and difficult to evaluate accurately by conventional methods. The aim of this paper is to study the possibility of obtaining the numerical solution for the Black-Scholes equation in parallel, by means of several processors, using the finite difference method. A comparison between the complexity of the parallel algorithm and the serial one is given.algorithm, model, Black-Scholes, price, evaluation.

In this paper is presented a possibility to reduce execution time involved in evaluating a financial option by means finite difference scheme, using a cyclic odd-even reduction technique on a coarse-grained parallel model.coarse grained multicomputer, parallel algorithm, tridiagonal linear system, band matrices, odd-even cyclic reduction algorithm.

A Collaborative System Software Solution for Modeling Business Flows Based on Automated Semantic Web Service Composition

    Get PDF
Nowadays, business interoperability is one of the key factors for assuring competitive advantage for the participant business partners. In order to implement business cooperation, scalable, distributed and portable collaborative systems have to be implemented. This article presents some of the mostly used technologies in this field. Furthermore, it presents a software application architecture based on Business Process Modeling Notation standard and automated semantic web service coupling for modeling business flow in a collaborative manner. The main business processes will be represented in a single, hierarchic flow diagram. Each element of the diagram will represent calls to semantic web services. The business logic (the business rules and constraints) will be structured with the help of OWL (Ontology Web Language). Moreover, OWL will also be used to create the semantic web service specifications.automated service coupling, business ontology, semantic web, BPMN, semantic web

SEMANTIC WEB BASED APPLICATION FOR KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT IN BUSINESS FLOWS

    Get PDF
This article presents the architecture of a framework designed to facilitate the interoperability between organizations based on knowledge management. The framework has four components: business flow design, rules developing, semantic networks and ontologies design, automated semantic web service composition. The latter, is based on fractals theory and agent supervision so that to determine the boundaries of the research environment and to enhance composition performance.semantic web, business, knowledge, interoperability, services, fractals

A Visual C# .NET implementation under development is discussed.learning component, user control, automatic assembly, adaptor

    Generating Multimedia Components for M-Learning

    Get PDF
The paper proposes a solution to generate template based multimedia components for instruction and learning available both for computer based applications and for mobile devices. The field of research is situated at the intersection of computer science, mobile tools and e-learning and is generically named mobile learning or M-learning. The research goal is to provide access to computer based training resources from any location and to adapt the training content to the specific features of mobile devices, communication environment, users' preferences and users' knowledge. To become important tools in education field, the technical solutions proposed will follow to use the potential of mobile devices.M-learning, mobile devices, MPEG-21 standard, multimedia databases

Applying Supervised Opinion Mining Techniques on Online User Reviews

    Get PDF
In recent years, the spectacular development of web technologies, lead to an enormous quantity of user generated information in online systems. This large amount of information on web platforms make them viable for use as data sources, in applications based on opinion mining and sentiment analysis. The paper proposes an algorithm for detecting sentiments on movie user reviews, based on naive Bayes classifier. We make an analysis of the opinion mining domain, techniques used in sentiment analysis and its applicability. We implemented the proposed algorithm and we tested its performance, and suggested directions of development

Adult Users’ Familiarisation with Graphical Interface Elements for Digital Competences Acquiring

    Get PDF
AbstractAccording to “Adult Learning. It is never too late to learn” report, issued in 2006 by the Education Commission, the adult education provides the employability, their mobility through the acquisition of key competences required by a permanent changing society that promotes the social inclusion. Adult education is an important component of lifelong learning and in terms of computer use it targets the digital competencies acquisition. This objective achievement starts from the users’ familiarization with the specific elements of the graphical interfaces applications going to be acquired by them and this facilitates the easy learning. The paper aims at highlighting those issues facing adult users in acquisition of information and communication technology competences and the ways to remove these learning barriers
